Rebuilding Together is a supportive group where partners can come together to share their journeys, heal, and grow. Whether couples are navigating the challenges of addiction, celebrating milestones in recovery, or seeking guidance to strengthen their relationship, our 12-week program promises to create a supportive atmosphere where couples can make a significant difference in helping each other heal together. Through open dialogue, educational resources, and shared experiences, this group aims to strengthen relationships and empower couples on their journey.
Below are some key aspects of what one can expect while participating in this group:
1. Introduction and Couples Agreement: Together we will examine the impact of substance use on relationships, implement a relational approach to addiction recovery, and promote healing within couples. We will evaluate problems in the relationship, identify each couples communication style, and identify shared values.
2. Communication Skills: Effective communication is the backbone of a successful recovery process for couples. It nurtures trust, understanding, and support, which are essential for navigating the challenges of addiction and rebuilding a healthy, loving relationship. Together we will identify and assist with what couples want from the relationship, identify strengths in the relationship, and recognize areas for change/improvement.
3. Building a Supportive Relationship: Learn how to create a supportive partnership that is essential to navigating the recovery pathway together. Empathy, patience, and open communication are the pillars that can hold a relationship steady through the ups and downs of this journey. By actively practicing these strategies, you can reinforce your bond and foster a nurturing environment conducive to healing.
4. Trust and Vulnerability: Open and honest communication helps build trust that may have been damaged during addiction. This judgement-free space will allow partners to express their feelings, concerns, and expectations, nurturing a sense of safety in the relationship.
5. Codependency and Boundaries: Recovery often requires setting new boundaries and expressing needs. Here you will find a safe space to explore how codependent behaviors can impact recovery and learn healthier ways to support one another. Together we will increase awareness of codependency patterns, foster open communication, and develop strategies for building healthier, more balanced relationships.
6. Managing Conflict: We will help couples navigate the transition from addiction to recovery, improving conflict management and enhancing communication and understanding. We will help couples address conflicts constructively rather than allowing issues to fester. By discussing problems openly, couples can work towards solutions together, strengthening their bond.
Whether you're at the beginning of your recovery or further along, you're not alone - come connect, grow, and support each other towards a healthier, happier future together.
